Winning the Wind Energy Fight

From John Droz:

Winning the Wind Energy Fight —
The weak link in the entire wind energy development chain, is the person who leases land for the turbines.

The bottom line is: No land lease = No wind development !

In many cases farmers are the unwitting victims of wind energy marketers. IMO we have not done an adequate job at educating these good people about the consequences of their signing onerous wind agreements.

To start to correct that, this is our first pass at an overview of this legally and financially complex situation.http://www.wiseenergy.org/Energy/Wind&Agriculture.pdf

A key part of this is our new document which list 40+ areas of concern! Consider making this the focal point of a meeting with potential leaseholders in any affected community...http://www.wiseenergy.org/Energy/Leaseholder.pdf

A New PR Angle —
To win the wind energy fight, we need allies — and the more the better.

In some NC wind development cases we realized that we have shared interests with an unexpected group: Hunters!

To spell this out, we’ve put together a two-page document that outlines reasons why hunters might well be concerned about wind development.http://www.wiseenergy.org/Energy/Wind&Hunting.pdf
